Kawa Tours is an organization that exists of a group of young people who want to make a difference. By organizing cultural tours they give visitors a good insight of what is going on in the daily Swahili life. In this way also some of the benefits of this tourism company in Zanzibar reach the local families and support the development of the local communities. Furthermore, trainees who have been trained at Kawa Training Center are able to get experience by doing tours for Kawa Tours. Experienced guides support trainees in the organization of the tours. In that way the quality of the tours is guaranteed and trainees get a possibility to improve their skills.

History of Kawa Tours
Kawa Tours is born out of The Zanzibar Youth Promotion Center: which was a center that promoting youth and informing them about Aids and Drug Abuse. Unemployment rates are very high in Zanzibar and many youth get up every morning with nothing to do and no money to do something and no hope for the future. Within this organization these youths can get a chance to change things.

Kawa Tours is a non-profit tour company for trainees to get familiar with all the aspects of a tourism company. Kawa Tours has a good relationship with existing tour companies; by talking with them it became clear that there is a big need for good qualified guides. Kawa Training Center and Kawa Tours are providing a group of trained guides that are building up experience.
